The Army is one giant team. Which part of that team your child joins and what military career they choose is really down to them. However, what you can be sure of is, thanks to the Army's ongoing commitment to individual development, your child's options in the Army will be many and varied, and they will be given every chance to make the most of what they're naturally best at.
The Regular Army and the Territorial ArmyThe Regular Army and the Territorial Army (TA) work together in defence, peacekeeping and humanitarian roles both at home and overseas. The Regular Army is a force of full-time professional soldiers, while the TA is a reserve force of civilians who fulfil soldier training and operational support on a part-time basis. The TA is not a separate Army - it works integrally with the Regular Army to add reinforcement whenever and wherever necessary.
