C (Kent & Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Squadron, The Royal Yeomanry
About us
Part of the Royal Armoured Corp, C Squadron’s role is based around the ‘sabre’ (fighting) troop of vehicles. We specialise in reconnaissance – searching for the enemy – either from our vehicles or waiting for nightfall then going ahead quietly, on foot.
Training with us in your spare time, you will learn to drive and crew all manner of vehicles, handle a wide variety of weapons, use the latest military radios, and to expertly detect, identify and deal with the effects of ‘CBRN weapons’ (weapons of mass destruction) – the only TA Unit that does this.
As well as ‘sabre’ soldiers, we train signallers, medics, clerks, HGV drivers, recruiting staff, physical trainers and more. Many of our soldiers have served in Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond: crewing armoured fighting vehicles, peace-keeping, carrying out CBRN operations, calling in air-strikes, and other vital tasks.
This is your chance to take on an exciting role in a Unit with a distinguished history of defending Britain from all manner of threats, all over the world.
