Regimental Headquarters, The Royal Yeomanry
About us
Part of the British Army that deals with tanks and armoured fighting vehicles – The Regimental Headquarters (RHQ) is the specialist Command and Control part of the Royal Yeomanry, providing: infrastructure, leadership and the communication skills necessary to maintain the Regiment during exercises and operations.
Training with us in your spare time, you will specialise in one of four basic areas:
Command Troop: maintaining signals (radios) and control of the Regiment.
The Regimental Aid Post: consisting of nurses and paramedics.
The Light Aid Detachment: skilled mechanics maintaining fighting and supply vehicles.
The Echelon: ensuring the Regiment has enough vehicles, fuel, food and weapons – at the right time and right place.
Together, we make it possible for the Regiment to do its job: going out and finding the enemy. The Royal Yeomanry is also the only TA unit that specialises in ‘CBRN’ – detecting, identifying and dealing with the effects of weapons of mass destruction.
Whether you have no previous experience, are already in the TA, or are an ex-Regular – this is your opportunity to become a highly trained armoured reconnaissance soldier, operating at home and abroad.
