Roles and Regiments

In a region covering North Lincolnshire to the Scottish Borders, 15 (North East) Brigade is the Army’s largest brigade – a force of over 10,500 Regular Army and TA (Territorial Army) soldiers.

A major part of 2nd Division’s military capability, our mission is to supply highly trained soldiers and Units to essential Army Operations such as Operation Telic in Iraq, and to peacekeeping Operations like those in the Balkans.

We also support civilian agencies; liaising with the police and ambulance services in emergencies such as flooding and storms, and provide fire-fighting cover across Yorkshire and the North East.

We are home to a wide range of Regiments with strong links to local towns and people. The Yorkshire Regiment, The Rifles, The Fusiliers, The Scots Guards, The Royal Artillery, The Royal Engineers, the Territorial Army’s only Parachute Battalion, two of the Army’s three MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) Artillery Regiments, plus the Army Foundation College at Harrogate which trains 16-17 year olds for junior entry to the Army.

With over 50 Units, our capability is vast – spanning the entire range of military roles, including Infantry soldiers and engineers, to signalers and logisticians, to medics, tank crewman, doctors, chefs, stores personnel, IT specialists…

…the opportunities are plentiful. And we’re recruiting now for both full-time and spare-time roles. To find out more, please get in touch with your nearest Army careers office.
