Army FE Bursary Scheme

The Further Education Bursary is for individuals who want to join the Army but not yet and it is designed to support students who are studying a full time course at college. A financial reward is available.

What is the financial reward?
The financial reward for students who are granted Further Education Bursaries is up to £5,000 for between 1 and 4 year Level 2 and 3 courses, providing students meet all the objectives.  This reward is payable in three stages.  For the Level 2 course, £300 will be paid at the end of the first term, £700 on completion of their course and a further £1,000 at the end of Army Basic Training. Students attending 2, 3 or 4 year courses will receive and additional £1,000 in their 2nd , 3rd and 4th year studies (£300 and £700 as above) and a final £1,000 on completion of the Army Basic Training.

On completion of my course, what is my commitment to the Army?
On completion of your course you will be committed to a standard minimum engagement of 4 years from the date of enlistment or from your 18th birthday if under 18 years on entry.

Where would I be employed in the Army?
There are over 140 Jobs and Trades available in the Army and a full list can be found on the Army Jobs website. A bursar can be employed in most of the Army Careers Groups.

How and when can I apply?
Careers Clinics and initial interviews will be held at your college during induction weeks and throughout your first term, however you can still apply until the end of your second term by contacting either Student Services or your local Army Careers Adviser (see below).
