Roles and Regiments
42 (North West) Brigade is the command responsible for the entire Army force in this region.
Home to renowned units including: The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, The Mercian Regiment, The Scots Guards, The Royal Irish Regiment, The Grenadier Guards and The Rifles – we have an enormous capability built on hundreds of years of proud and distinguished service.
As a vital part of the Army’s 2nd Division, our mission is to provide highly trained soldiers to its military capability, for expeditionary Operations such as those in Iraq and Afghanistan. Equally as important, we also provide support to civilian agencies; to protect the public in emergencies such as flooding, storms and terrorist alerts.
This commitment requires a huge range of skills. And we are now recruiting soldiers for roles as diverse as: mechanics, aircraft technicians, drivers, navigators, nurses, carpenters, stores handlers, weapons maintenance technicians, communications systems operators, electricians, construction engineers and much more.
Your training will be second to none – with the chance to achieve qualifications recognised by civilian employers. You will experience things you never thought possible. And you will make friends for life.
Add to that opportunities for sports, overseas travel, ongoing adventurous training and a competitive salary, benefits and pension – and there’s nowhere better to achieve your ambitions.
So get in touch with your local Army careers office. It could lead to an exciting job, perhaps in one of the Regiments here.
