Rhyl

If you’re thinking about joining the Army, come and see us.

We’ll sit you down with someone like Colour Sergeant Moffitt. He became a soldier because he wanted travel, for adventure and to make something of himself. His career has certainly lived up to his expectations.

We all share similar reasons for becoming soldiers: the excitement, travel, promotion, pay – and loads of fun. It’s the kind of lifestyle many civilians can only dream of. And we’ve all gained qualifications that are recognised by civilian employers. The support and respect we get from the proud Welsh public is second to none, too.
So for some firsthand advice, come in for a chat.

When you get here
As professional soldiers, we’ll be in uniform. But you can show up in your work clothes or jeans – whatever you like. We’re only interested in what makes you tick, so one of us will sit down with you and talk about your interests, as well as the wide variety of Army jobs out there – such as chefs, signallers, nurses, clerks, mechanics, tank crewmen, electricians and so on. There are loads of opportunities – so this first get together is all about helping you get a feel for Army life and where you could fit in.

Ask us anything
People usually want to know about the training, career opportunities, travel prospects and, of course, the pay! We’ll tell you all that – and answer any other questions you have.

What happens next?
The first thing is to go away and think about it. You can always pop back in for another chat. If and when you want to take things further, we’ll first weigh and measure you to check your Body Mass Index (BMI). Then arrange a formal interview for you and give you an Army Contact form, an Army DVD and your application pack to take away. We can also arrange your British Army Recruitment Battery (BARB) test.
